Atlanta Scholars

Mission

Education

Our mission is to help students achieve higher levels of success in school and beyond. Our approach is faithful to the word ‘educate,’ from the Latin origin educare, to ‘bring forth.’ Our tutors challenge students to think for themselves and arrive at the answer through their own critical reasoning. Our mentors value the transmission of knowledge from those who have been there to those who are on their way. Knowledge coupled with guidance is the sound foundation of a scholar and a successful member of society.

Building Strong Minds

Sometimes there are obstacles that can prevent a student from performing their best in school and on standardized tests. Whatever the obstacles, our tutors are experienced in helping students overcome those challenges, opening the gate to achieving higher scores. Many of our tutors are themselves students or recent students so they have a keen understanding of the academic pressures that today's middle and high school students are faced with .

Atlanta Scholars appreciates that getting high scores is only one part of success. The other part is applying your achievements in a way that maximizes your candidacy for a university or job. When, for example, multiple students graduate from high school with a 3.5 GPA and a 35 score on the ACT, which student does the university accept? Similarly, as one of our tutors mentioned: “In high school the focus of guidance counselors was getting students into their top choice university… but what about assessing the different majors, long-term professional routes, and realities of these professions?” These discussions are necessary components of a smart approach to life.

That’s where the mentors of Atlanta Scholars come in, guiding students to the next steps in life. Now more than ever, traditional fields of study and business are becoming increasingly more interdisciplinary and dynamic. In the global market, university and job candidates must be able to exhibit a wide variety of skills and professional traits.
